Me and Brett did a performance at macies bar. It was good, we were received quite well, now all we gotta do is talk the other band members into coming along.

Started working on "Lucky" today, it's really coming together, Chris has started taking control of how Alex and Brett have to play and how I have to sing lol and the rest is kind of falling into place, it'll be fun to perform in front of an audience :)

We got "Lucky" down to a fine art now :), gonna start work on some newer stuff soon :D, once we've got "How to disappear completely and never be found" cracked, Brett's come up with some interesting ideas.

Tried out "how to disappear etc." on the pub audience today, i think they enjoyed it, despite my horrible throat infection being a massive hindrence to my singing ability.
things are going well

10th Feb 2006
Been writing a new song with Brett today, we both play guitar and i get to solo. which is nice.
Andy from the pub is waiting on us to start playing our more alternative stuff, we'd best not disappoint him.

Did a show down Macies and it was shit, the place is becoming full of kids and goths who think that if music doesn't match their specific criteria it must be bad.
Brett hasn't turned up to a single practice and we're going through a phase of sucking a great deal of the proverbial cock!
No longer allowing Brett to give excuses, he comes to reherse or he phones ahead to tell us why he can't make it. Either that or he can go.

Wrote another riff for guitar, generic and depressing as always, ran it through the Kaoss pad and tried to make something of it, still sounded like The Gloaming. Wish I could be more creative.

2nd March 2006
Wrote a song on guitar today and it sounds immense, got a summery chillout vibe to it.
Not too depressing either.
Been teaching myself special effects and I'm looking forward to doing a music video, got most of the songs for the April gig sorted, to quote 'Lucky', "it's gonna be a glorious day!" :)

Brett and I wrote the most awesome song today, basically used my Kaoss Pad to turn his guitar into a chinese violin, The first time we played it I nearly cried, the problem is we cocked it up in recording!
Ah well.

Holy god, we headlined a gig at concorde last night and it was brilliant. When i told the audience that "this song is called Creep" they all screamed with joy, I'm not going to forget that for a while.
Brilliant show.
Finding out how much money we raised on monday :)

The people who owned the venue that we were apparently using for "free" for the Demelza house gig took 50p out of every 2 quid, THE BASTARDS! Hello people, It's a charity gig for terminally ill children, what the hell is wrong with you!?
On the plus side, we're trying out our new lead guitarist tomorrow, his name is raz :)

Guess where I was today? Macies! :), they've banned all the kids and are starting session night again. Hoorah!
Also, while I was there I discussed the "War Child" gig with Andy in great detail and he has offered to help us.
Woot.

Today I received an email from War Child. They expressed their gratitude for our gig plans and have offered their support.
For the first time in a while I felt all magical :)

We've lost Andy.
All of a sudden he just wasn't the owner of Macies anymore. It's going to be harder without him.

11 June 2006
We had a very good practice last night, but I broke my Kaoss pad :'( I was very upset. This apparently added to the quality of my vocals during the rest of the rehearsal, but I was too sad to notice. Meh, only material goods after all.
We've been in the papers for quite a while but have still not received any offers for a free gig venue for War Child.
Guess we're going to have to actively seek one out.

Band Auditioned for the film "The Margate Exodus" today, boy are we nackered, all three guitars playing a very fast and complicated riff for the whole 4 minute song and singing while playing it was truly difficult, however it payed off. Chris' vocal harmony was superb and the judges would not believe that Chanelle had only been playing drums 2 days.
All in all a fine day, but damn are we tired!

30th July 2006.
Last night we performed at Alex's sister's wedding. It was a short set due to issues with the time we were allowed to use the venue. But it was still a good evening and I feel that we played reasonably well (despite me loosing all vocal control during the first song...ooops!) :)

Went to the Vfestival in Stafford, saw Radiohead, they were immense, I got mentioned by Thom for going mental (which was cool I guess)
been playing more piano lately, fuck guitar.
But don't worry, we're not turning into Keane.

Getting my Ondes Martenot soon woooo, not gigging for a while, for a bout a year in fact, we're not putting the album off any longer

Having a hard time adjusting to this strange world known as "music without Raz."
Here's something to do:
First Diary entry in a while. Had so much College work to do. Barely been able to do any music lately :(
Need to get back on the right track or no CD and no tour :'(
On the plus side I've been tinkering with a new song on acoustic, it's sounding good. Needs some martenot though methinks ;)
Have a good Christmas if you celebrate it. Enjoy the Holidays :)
